In Broome angekommen, fühlt es speziell an, wieder in der Zivilisation zu sein.... Autos, Menschen, Lärm... und Duschen! Ja darauf freuten wir uns alle. Es brauchte doch einige Zeit um den letzten Staub und Dreck von meiner Haut zu entfernen.
Am Abend gönnten wir uns im Mangrove Hotel einen Drink und genossen die Lichterstimmung des Sonnenuntergangs. Auf dieser Seite der Stadt geht der Mond auf. Dieser sorgt an gewissen Tagen für ein Naturspektakel. Man nennt es hier "Staircase to the moon"! Nach einen typischen lokalen Nachtessen (Fish and Chips) warteten wir in der Kälte bis der Mond aufging. Leider war heute keiner der besagten Tage. Dennoch erwartete uns ein wundervoller Mond.
Die Tage darauf gingen wir alle unsere Wege. Ich genoss den Moren mit Foto bearbeiten, Blog schreiben und SMS-len. Schliesslich hatte wir nun nach längerer Zeit wieder Mal empfang.
Am Nachmittag hatte ich eine Whalwatching Tour gebucht. Nachdem ich auf Philipp Island keine gesehen hatte freute ich mich umso mehr auf meine 4. Chance diese wundervollen Riesen zu sehen.
Wir wurden beim Hotel abgeholt und fast am Jetty angekommen hält die Fahrerin auf einem Parkplatz... die Tour wurde wegen zu starkem Wind abgesagt. Unglaublich!
Am Abend trafen wir uns im Hostel und es gab "Gschwellti". Ich hatte der Gruppe von diesem Essen berichtet und dass das wohl das erste sein wird, was ich zurück in der Schweiz essen werde. Es klang für sie so lecker, dass wir beschlossen die Zutaten zu kaufen.
Bereits war der letzte Tag in Broome angebrochen. Das Frühstück heute genoss ich am Cable Beach. Zusammen mit Kandice (eine Amerikanerin aus der Gruppe) machte ich mich dort auf die Suche nach den Dinosaurierspuren. Gesehen haben wir sie leider nicht.
Den restlichen Tag verbrachte ich gemütlich mit "NICHT Viel Tun"! Während am Abend der Lion King im bekannten "Sun Cinema" auf der Leinwand umherwanderte, spazierte ich durch die Stadt und fand ein paar ganz schöne Baob-Trees und genoss danach im "Matsos" ein Gingerbeer und ein leckeres Essen. Was für ein toller Abschluss der Broome Tage.
Arriving in Broome, it feels special to be back in civilization .... cars, people, noise ... and showers! Yes, we all looked forward to it. It takes some time to remove the last dust and dirt from my skin.
In the evening we had a drink in the mangrove hotel and enjoyed the light mood of the sunset. On this side of the city, the moon rises. This makes a natural spectacle on certain days. It is called "staircase to the moon"! After a typical local dinner (fish and chips) we waited freezing for the spectacle. Unfortunately, today was none of the said days. Nevertheless, a wonderful moon awaited us.
The days after that we all went our ways. I enjoyed editing my photos, writing a blog and texting. Finally, we had now after a long time again reception.
In the afternoon I booked a whale watching tour. After being on Philipp Island, I'm all the more looking for my 4th chance to see these wonderful giants.
We were picked up at the hotel and nearly arrived at the jetty the driver stopped in a parking lot ... the tour was canceled because of too strong wind. Incredible!
In the evening we met in the hostel to eat Swiss "Gschwellti". I had told the group about this food and that will probably be the first thing I will eat back in Switzerland. It sounded so delicious to them that we decided to buy the ingredients.
Already the last day had arrived in Broome. The breakfast I enjoyed today at Cable Beach. Together with Kandice (an American of the group) made it there in search of the dinosaur tracks. Unfortunately we did not see them.
The rest of the day I spent comfortably with "NOT much action"! During the evening of the Lion King in the well-known "Sun Cinema" on the screen, I strolled through the city and found some beautiful Baob trees and then enjoyed in the "Matsos" a Gingerbeer and a delicious meal. What a great way to end the Broome days.
