Auch wenn ich bereits wieder in der Schweiz weile, will ich es nicht missen, euch von meiner wundervollen Afrika Reise zu berichten. Leider war das Internet zu schwach und das Erstellen des Blog mittels iPad nicht möglich! Also nun: viel Spass dabei!!
Although I am already back in Switzerland, I do not want to miss to tell you about my wonderful Africa trip. Unfortunately, the Internet was too weak and the creation of the blog via iPad was not possible! So now: have fun!
So, nun bin ich also wieder on tour.
So, now I am back on tour. After a complicated flight, I arrived in hot, colorful Africa. Somehow blue-eyed, I did not inform myself about how hot it really is here and so I was almost killed by the 40 degrees. I almost feel like I'm back in sultry Asia. But the advantage here: the heat is dry.
Yes and I have unmistakably arrived in Africa ... how can I tell? Warthogs run past the window in the morning & after a walk through the safe village you have felt 100 offers for African lovers ... or you should buy anything "homemade" ... or change money. On my polite but consistent "NO thank you" respond the locals friendly and so I feel quite comfortable.
Yes and then there is the matter with the sunscreen. In search of it, I am looked at the supermarket in disbelief, as if I ask heaven on earth ... in the pharmacy, I am only offered the After Sun ointment So I must first blush, before they can help me.
When I finally find a tourist business which has "sunscreen" I am offered a 20ml tube for $ 20. I handle it at 10 down but then take a Ketteli and pay 13th But I only have a 20 dollar note with me and he no change. So the clever seller sends his girlfriend change and tells her and me ... she should get a second tube as change. She comes back and pushes me a "sunscreen" in my hand instead of my $ 7 change. I look at him in disbelief and say politely ... I do not want a second cream I want my money. Well, at least he tried. Whether the tube content is really a proper sunscreen will remain a mystery! The slight red in my face, however, is suspicious ...
I like Victoria Falls well. I spent several hours in the park watching the water fall into the depths. I watched monkeys with boys, marveled at small birds for hours and drove on a breakfast boat. I saw elephants crossing a river and discovering my first "real" kingfisher.
What a start!
And the great thing is ... the first meeting with the group is promising. Tomorrow we start to Botswana.
