Heute verabschiede ich mich von London und die Fahrt geht weiter in Richtung Cardiff. Ich bin froh zwei autofreie Tage gehabt zu haben und fahre dennoch etwas nervös los. Sobald ich den Highway erreiche, werde ich lockerer und geniesse den Naturwechsel auf der Fahrt.
Ich komme ohne Zwischenfälle bei Deborah an und wir verbringen einen gemütlichen Abend.
Am nächsten Tag fahre ich los gegen Westen in den Gower AONB. Rhossili und Worms head sind das Ziel.
Hier kann man das Meer bei Ebbe überqueren um einen kleinen Inselteil zu erkunden. Man muss jedoch die Gezeiten im Griff haben, sonst wird man 8 Stunden zu Robinson Crusoe.
Das Wetter ist zwar sonnig aber durch den Wind extrem kalt. Nach einem leckeren Frühstück im "The Lookout" erkunde ich gut eingepackt die Umgebung und beobachte Vögel und Pferde.
Mit einem mulmigen Gefühl überquere ich schlussendlich das Meer. Auf dem Weg entdeckt man Dinge, die normalerweise unter dem Wasser verborgen bleiben. Spannend was das so rum liegt. Auf der anderen Seite werde ich mit einem wundervollen Naturbild belohnt. Als Timing für den Rückweg habe ich mir natürlich den Wecker gestellt... ich will ja nicht auf der kleinen Insel nächtigen.
Zurück am Festland suche ich mir ein kleines Restaurant und lasse bei Kuchen und Tee die Sonnenuntergangsfarben auf mich wirken.

Today I say goodbye to London and continue my journey towards Cardiff. I am happy to have had two car-free days and still drive off a little nervously. As soon as I reach the highway, I loosen up and enjoy the change of nature on the way.
I arrive at Deborah's without incident and we spend a pleasant evening.
The next day I head west into the Gower AONB. Rhossili and Worms head are the destination.
Here you can cross the sea at low tide to explore a small part of the island. However, you have to be in control of the tides or you will be Robinson Crusoe for 8 hours.
The weather is sunny but extremely cold due to the wind. After a delicious breakfast at "The Lookout", I explore the surroundings well wrapped up and watch birds and horses.
With a queasy feeling I finally cross the sea. On the way, I discover things that are normally hidden under the water. Exciting what is lying around. On the other side, I am rewarded with a wonderful view of nature. As timing for the way back, I naturally set the alarm clock... I don't want to spend the night on the small island.
Back on the mainland, I look for a small restaurant and take in the sunset colours over cake and tea.
