Im Süden scheint nun endlich die Sonne!
Das tut richtig gut und die Farben, die uns das Land hier zeigt sind wundervoll.
Doch ebenso erwartet uns hier der Tourismus pur. Teilweise macht es fast keinen Spass, die Dinge anzuschauen. Für mich ist es fast ein Schock, denn vor 11 Jahren war alles noch so pur und unberührt.
Der Spaziergang beim Vikinger-Dorf mit Sichtung von Robben, der Jökulsarlon, das Flugzeugwrack und die Wasserfälle sind dennoch auf unserer Liste.
Das Highlight unserer Tour durch den Süden ist jedoch unser Camping in der Nähe von Vik. Flavia fährt begeistert über eine Rally Strecke ins Tal und ich bin wohl ebenso angetan von den Farben, die sich uns hier im Abendlicht zeigen. Der Camping ist am Ende der Strasse umrundet von Bergen.
Eine Abend-Wanderrunde ist hier für mich, speziell bei dem tollen Licht, ein Muss. So erklimme ich einen der Berge um unseren Camping und geniesse die rund 6 km Rundwanderung. So toll!
Als letzten Stop hätten wir für zwei Nächte ein tolle HI Hostel im Grünen geplant. Doch der Wetterbericht zeigt erneut sturmartigen Wind und da wir den Flughafen sicher erreichen wollen und nicht riskieren wollen, im Wind stecken zu bleiben, entscheiden wir den Weg dorthin aufzuteilen und buchen ein AirBnB mit einem Whirlpool in der Mitte des Weges.
Der letzte Tag steht vor der Tür und wird ein IKEA-Besuch-Kaffetrink-Lese-Sein-Tag.
Mit vielen Eindrücken und Erkenntnissen reisen wir zurück in die Schweiz und ich bin unendlich dankbar für das gemeinsame Erlebnis. Danke DIR FLAVIA!
The sun is finally shining in the south!
It feels really good and the colors that the country shows us here are wonderful.
But pure tourism also awaits us here. Sometimes it's almost no fun to look at things. It's almost a shock for me, because 11 years ago everything was still so pure and untouched.
The walk to the Viking village with seal sightings, Jökulsarlon, the plane wreck and the waterfalls are still on our list.
However, the highlight of our tour through the south is our campsite near Vik. Flavia drives enthusiastically along a rally route into the valley and I am probably just as taken with the colors that we see here in the evening light. The campsite is at the end of the road, surrounded by mountains.
An evening hike here is a must for me, especially in this fantastic light. So I climb one of the mountains around our campsite and enjoy the 6 km circular hike. So great!
The last stop we had planned was a great HI hostel in the countryside for two nights. But the weather forecast shows stormy winds again and as we want to reach the airport safely and don't want to risk getting stuck in the wind, we decide to split the journey and book an AirBnB with a hot tub in the middle of the route.
The last day is just around the corner and will be a day of visiting IKEA-drinking coffee-eading-just be-day.
We travel back to Switzerland with many impressions and insights and I am infinitely grateful for the shared experience. Thank YOU FLAVIA!
